Admissions Administrator
Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is seeking a part-time Admissions Administrator to provide effective administrative support for the enrolment of students onto BOVTS full-time postgraduate programmes and part-time short courses.
The role holder will assist with processing applications, arranging interviews and auditions, and ensuring clear ongoing communication with applicants throughout all stages of the onboarding process. They will also coordinate all administrative aspects of the School’s non-degree courses (adult short courses and youth courses), including liaising with course leaders, booking rooms, producing timetables, and acting as the initial point of contact for accommodation enquiries.
Equipped with excellent administrative skills, high attention to detail, and experience using Google Suite and Outlook, you will take the lead in ensuring smooth and efficient admissions processes for both postgraduate and short courses.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, self-motivated with a calm and logical approach, and possess excellent communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Theatre School’s Marketing & Admissions team and support the delivery of the School’s educational offerings.
Contract: Permanent, part-time
Salary: £13,500 per annum (£27,000 pro-rata)

Acting Courses Coordinator
Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is seeking a part-time Acting Courses Coordinator to proactively support and manage the timetabling of and administrative aspects for the Theatre School’s acting degree courses – BA Professional Acting, MA Screen Acting and MFA Professional Acting.
The role holder will compile, publish and manage day-to-day administration for the acting courses, liaise with course leaders and visiting practitioners, and be integral to researching and administering an online timetabling system. They will also be responsible for appropriate studio and room allocation – including external bookings, such as rehearsal space – and will support industry liaison by organising meetings between graduating students and agents or casting directors.
Equipped with strong organisational skills, particularly in scheduling, you will take the lead in ensuring the acting department operates efficiently and flexibly, responding to changing needs.
The ideal candidate will be adaptable in their approach, a strong team player who thrives within a close-knit supportive environment, and have a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion in the arts or higher education. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Theatre School’s acting department and to support the delivery of the School’s degree programmes.

BOVTS Young Artists Leaders
Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is recruiting for Young Artist Leaders to develop and deliver tuition to young people from Bristol and the surrounding areas in performance and technical theatre skills. BOVTS Young Artists is the Theatre School’s youth academy with classes running on Sunday mornings during term time.Â
We are looking for people who are experienced performers, stage managers or teachers to deliver this work. If you feel you can inspire the next generation of theatre makers, come and work with our Young Artists!

Selection and assessment
We use a range of methods at the interview stage to assess candidates against objective job criteria contained in the job description and employee competencies applicable to the role. The purpose is to accurately predict a candidate’s ability to perform the job in question. All interviews will be undertaken by a panel of two or more people, and we will endeavour for the panel to be representative of society. Selection panels will keep written notes on each applicant recording reasons for decisions taken. These are disclosable to the applicant.
